Weather
The best time to visit Japan from Mumbai is spring (March to May) or autumn (October to November), when the weather is mild and the blossoms or fall colours are out. Each region has its own rhythm, especially Hokkaido in the north.
Tokyo, Hakone, Fuji Five Lakes
Cherry blossoms peak in late March to early April. June is the rainy season, July and August are hot and humid, and September can bring typhoons. Winter is cold but clear, with the sharpest Mt Fuji views.
Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Hiroshima
Kyoto's autumn colours peak in mid to late November, and spring blossoms arrive around early April. Summers are very hot and humid; winters are cold with the occasional light snow.
Sapporo, Otaru, Furano, Niseko
Not on our group tour, but a popular custom add-on: deep snow and the Sapporo Snow Festival in winter, lavender fields and cool weather in July. Hokkaido largely misses the June rains.

Indian passport holders need a tourist visa before travel. We start the application as soon as your booking is confirmed; the visa fee and appointment are included in our group tour price.
Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from your return date with 2 or more blank pages. The visa also needs recent bank statements, ITRs and photos.
Japanese Yen (JPY). Cards work in most hotels and city shops, but carry cash for temples, small eateries and markets. A Suica or ICOCA card makes trains and convenience stores easy.
